Crap Striker on loan in January?
|
Who will it be, we won't get Hogan and we are not getting Defoe, so there will be a lot of Noise from DS telling us how they tried and tried and a lack of financial sense with the deals we wanted to do and then we will get a shit loan deal in.
Who do you think it will be?

Agree with that, but we should create the space before filling it - free transfer all the dead wood or plan for their return. And tell us when that is likely to be!

How far is Sakho away?
If a matter of weeks? I'd be inclined to not bring a cheaper striker in now but a top drawer one in the Summer along with Joe Hart and Fabregas?
Enough cover there now knowing Antonio can play up there if Carroll limps out.

Haha I suppose so, if I can include Ayew I can hardly reject Antonio.

We only appear so high in the net spend because we had no return from Fat Sam's aging buys and wish to keep the few money men we signed. Others made a fortune and spent it. They're not bad for spending, given we are not in mega money ranks. But they have to make progress in this regard now that more money is flooding into the coffers after the stadium move.

A loan move for Jackson Martinez was mentioned on Twatter tonight. Looked decent at Porto. No idea what he is like after his semi-retirement in China though…

I reckon we'll backfill behind and alongside Antonio, and HE will be 'the new striker'..!
TBH, he's done as well as anybody up there - we could do a lot worse.

I do agree that we are not and have still to spend at the level required. Many will cite our net spend but that is not the yardstick for me.
If the owners want to get to the next level which is top 6 on a consistent basis they will need to be spending 70 - 80 million in fees alone in consecutive windows and even that is not a guarantee if not invested wisely but it will open up opportunities for players like Spurs, Chelsea, Arsenal and the other big boys get. Last window Mane would have been an option if our budget was up a level and we would have had to pay a lot more than Liverpool to tempt someone like that. Even then he might not come but that is a level of quality we need and it aint cheap.
So when I see Sullivan and Gold buying 2 or 3 high quality, expensive players totaling 70 million or more in a few windows I might take them seriously about the next level.
I actually realise they will never do that and do not have the wealth or are unwilling to risk their personal wealth on West Ham. No problem but stop talking about competing with the big boys. It takes investment we will never see. Everton are trying to get there and have just started their investment and it will take a lot more to get in that top 6 regularly.

Psycho I hope you're right mate but Everton have only lost 6 games this season so far and they have strengthened in this window .So unless they have a down turn in form i can see them staying where they are.
